Altered Art

DT Call

Here is a finished shot of my altered project
instructions below.

I started with a 12x12 shadow box that
I wanted to alter for my altered canvas.
I used gesso to seal and color my box as it stared out brown.
12 x 12 shadow box and white gesso
I stencilled anything vintage I could find in this case an old
bicycle using a pouncing technique so the paint
did not go under my stencil.
Stencilling a fancy corner made from wood veneer
Then I stamped a script image randomly.
Stamping with Hero Arts Stamps
The result of the stamping and stencilling.
Another veneer piece used for a stencil using Vintage Photo
Distress Ink.
The result
I decided I was only going to stamp and stencil the edges.
I think it needs more stamps.
Here is a vintage lady also stamped in Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
And another Vintage stamp.
Stamping a vintage plane
Then I thought I would do some embossing.
So I juiced up a rose stamp with Versa Mark Ink.
And with Martha Stuart Embossing Powder
I poured it on the stamped rose.

And heat embossed it with my heat tool.
Next I decided to distress a DCWV script paper with
Vintage Photo Distress Ink as well. Making tears and rips
along the way to make it look aged.
I decided to use another script page behind the
torn page to fill in the spaces.
Then I placed my altered canvas back in the
box and added some vintage lace trim to match my canvas.
